The 1.300 ha city extension of Beijing is designed for a total population of 500.000 inhabitants. Next to a central business district, Guangyang comprises several residential areas, office and commercial quarters as well as leisure facilities. The urban design project included sustainability issues and typological studies on exemplary buildings, as well low-rise as high-rise, landscape design and traffic infrastructure.
