The design reflects the rapidly changing needs in housing by creating a dialogue between the architecture of the modern movement of the 30^iesand contemporary issues regarding the requirements of today’s life. The design respectfully maintains the urban villa as build by famous Dutch architect Kraaijvanger. The traditional brickwork from the 30^iesand the newly build extension, erected in an ultra thin fibre concrete construction correlate in a confident yet respectful way. The deep and story-high concrete fins of the extension allow for privacy and a maximum of natural daylight at the same time. Simultaneously regulating the natural shading of the glazed façade as well as the visual connections to the inside the residence.
